About Coupons
The Osaka Monorail offers three types of coupons : a “Normal Coupon” that can be used at any time on any day. A “Staggered Time Coupon” that can be used only between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00 on weekdays and all day when trains are running on holiday schedules. And a “Holiday Coupon” that can be used at anytime when trains are running on holiday schedule.
A “Normal Coupon” offers either adults or children 11 tickets for the price of 10.
A “Staggered Time Coupon” is available only for adults and offers 12 tickets for the price of 10.
A “Holiday Coupon” is available only for adults and offers 14 tickets for the price of 10.
Coupons come as a magnetic strip card with the remaining number of tickets shown on the backside.
Coupons are sold for each of the fare brackets, therefore they can be used at different stations as long as they are within the same fare bracket.
Example : If you have a coupon for the ¥240 fare bracket
You can get on the Monorail at any station between Minami Ibaraki and Bampaku-Kinen-Koen with your coupon, and ride to any station between Bampaku-Kinen-Koen and Senri-chuo.
If you ride outside of the fare bracket of your coupon, insert your coupon into the fare adjustment machine at the station where you get off and pay the difference before exiting the station.
If you ride less than the distance of the fare bracket of your coupon, it is counted as 1 ticket. You do not receive a refund for any difference.
Coupons are valid from the date of purchase until the last day of the month 3 months later. Coupons are invalid beyond the expiration period; no refunds are awarded for unused coupons. Refunds are available for coupons with remaining tickets when redeemed within the expiration period. (Processing fee required)
Multiple persons may use the same coupon.
