Warning!

Please make sure that your card is charged (has a positive cash balance) before you ride.

There are subways and buses in the PiTaPa area that do not accept the IC cards that are used all over the country.

You cannot pay with the 8 cards listed above or the ICOCA card at shops that are affiliated with PiTaPa shopping.

Information About ICOCA

ICOCA is an IC card that has the same function as a ticket.
It costs 2000 yen for an ICOCA card/Children's ICOCA card (including the 500 yen deposit fee to issue the card)

ICOCA

  • Do not let anyone else use your card.
  • The card cannot be reissued if it gets lost.

Children's ICOCA

  • This ICOCA card is for children (the children's fare will be charged to this card).
  • Only the child whose name is on the card can use this card.
  • The card cannot be reissued if it gets lost.
  • Valid until March 31st the year the child using the card turns 12.
  • In order to buy this card, an official ID (as proof of age) is necessary.

How to Get a Refund on Your ICOCA Card

Please go to the commuter pass sales counter (the ticket gate counter at each station) and fill out the required information on the form to get a refund on your ICOCA card (this same form is also used to change or refund your commuter pass).
The amount you will get back is the balance plus the 500 yen deposit, minus a 220 yen service fee.

Information About Children's ICOCA Card Purchase, Application Process and Expiration

(Purchase)At the commuter sales pass counter (located at Kadoma-shi Station, Minami-ibaraki Station, Senri-chuo Station, Hotarugaike Station) or the station counter at any station
(Application Process)Please fill out the necessary information on the commuter pass/ICOCA card purchase form (which also acts as the children's ICOCA card purchase form) with the necessary information. Please also show official ID.
(Expiration)Valid until March 31st the year the child using the card turns 12.
(Refund)Please go to the commuter pass sales counter (the ticket gate counter at each station) and fill out the required information on the form to get a refund on the children's ICOCA card. Also be ready to show valid ID.
The amount you will get back is the balance plus the 500 yen deposit, minus a 220 yen service fee.

Charging via a ticket machine

  • Go to the purple or red ticket machine.
  • 1 Press the "English" button.
  • 2 Press the "IC card" button.
  • 3 Place your IC card inside and close the shutter.
  • 4 Put in cash.
  • 5 Press a button showing a charge amount you want.
  • 6 Press either the “Charge with a receipt” button or the “Charge without a receipt” button.

Charging via a fare adjustment machine

  • Fare adjustment machines are marked in yellowish green.
  • 1 Press the "English" button.
  • 2 Insert your IC card.
  • 3 Put in cash.
  • 4 Press a button showing a charge amount you want.
  • 5 Press either the “Charge with a receipt” button or the “Charge without a receipt” button.
